Before we Begin
A portrait here is a design problem before it is a photograph. If that’s new to you, start below. If your question isn’t here, say so on the form, I read every one.
Designed portraits. Not the gray backdrop, not the angle from below, not the version of you that looks like an institution instead of a person. I come from the interior design world, and I approach a portrait the way I approached a room; built around the person in it, and around where the image is going to live: a profile, a stage, or a wall in your house.
What kind of photography is this?

It means I don’t start with a camera. I start with a brief: how you want to be read, who’s on the other side of the image, and what you’re dreading about being photographed. Then I write back a direction: the room, the light, the tonal register, the styling logic, the whole thinking. And you see it before you ever stand in front of my lens.

How does the process work?

Four steps. You complete the form with a few details about your project. I review it and respond within 48 hours. From there we settle on the right session and I write back a direction you’ll see before the shoot. Then we make the work, and you leave with pieces finished for exactly where they’re headed.
The four sessions differ in one way only: how far the design goes.
The Study - $450
One idea, made properly. One look, one intention, one clear read on you. The fix for a profile photo that’s five years ole, borrowed, or quietly making you wince. Finished and sized for LinkedIn, your site, and press.
The Brief - $1,200
Your portrait, designed around you. Begins with the Portrait Brief, which is a short, honest exchange about how you want to be read. You get written direction to keep, and a range of images that carries you for the year: a profile, about page, press, stage, and social.
The Editorial - from $2,500
The whole visual language, not just the face. A full story production: portrait, environment, hands, objects, and motion; one coherent language your team can pull from for a year, built to your rollout.
The Scene - from $3,500, quoted by concept.
A world, designed around you. A concept built from the ground up, period. Consider palette, material, wardrobe, light, character, from the idea you’ve been carrying. Written and designed before anything is built, then printed and placed. Every scene is different, so every scene is quoted.

It depends on the session. The Study leaves you with a single finished portrait, sized for avatar and full width. The Brief adds a written direction and a full range of images for the year. The Editorial is a body of work, portrait, environment, detail, and motion, your team can draw from for a year. The Scene is a finished piece, written and designed in advance, then printed at scale and placed on the wall.

No, and that’s on purpose. The gray backdrop and the flattering-from-below angle are exactly what the design rules out. If. you need one clean, considered image done properly, The Study is the closet fir, and it will still be designed.

You don’t have to arrive with it figured out. Styling logic, the room, and the tonal register are part of the direction I write for you before the shoot. That’s the point of designing first. The more design a session carries, the more of this we plan together in advance.
